Time Out for Thanksgiving
over 9 years ago – Tue, Nov 29, 2016 at 10:58:57 PM

Hello everyone!

Shipping proceeds apace, with tonight seeing another good-sized box full of envelopes of goodies ready for the post office.

That said, I'm very sorry, but Thanksgiving was last week, and I had a very nasty cold for a few days for the holiday.  It was unpleasant, and I had a hard time thinking I should package any of it up to send along with the meeples.  So, during the prime time I would have liked to really hit shipping hard, I was up all night coughing my upper respiratory tract out.  Nothing like being home for the holidays, as it were.

My good doctor prescribed me some wonderful meds, and I'm back in the saddle, though.  There are under 200 yet to be packed and sent, but the remainder are almost all quick and easy to go.  We've prepacked several of the sets, it's just a matter of stuffing them in envelopes, weighing them and affixing postage.  I'd like to have them all sent out by the end of next week, earlier if I can swing it.

So, I'm sorry for the delay, but I really couldn't do a lot about it.  I've dodged serious colds for a few years, and it was about time, I guess.  At least my kids had it easier and my dear wife has dodged it entirely.

Thank you all again for backing this project, and we'll let you know when these are all out the door!

Moving Meeples and Starry Nights
over 9 years ago – Tue, Nov 22, 2016 at 06:08:13 PM

Hello everyone!

Just a quick notice this time: all non-U.S. goods are on their way.  The DHL people just picked up 2 big heavy boxes full of the EU, AUS and NZ orders, and our partners in the UK will handle them as soon as they get in their facility.  I'm not certain what sort of details we'll get during delivery.  The company has been great at communication, it's just that this is the first time we've gone this route so I'm not sure what to expect.  I'll let you know if anything useful shows up.

In tangential news, a friend of mine is running a campaign for some new custom dice to celebrate the Voyager probe anniversary:

Constellation Dice: Voyager Anniversary Edition

The first project he did for constellation dice turned out very well.  If you've an eye for dice and want some sweet D6, Fudge and D10 dice, please go check it out!

Thank you again!

Meeples Still On The Move
over 9 years ago – Sat, Nov 19, 2016 at 07:14:14 PM

Hello everyone!

It's been a busy two weeks since the last update, but it's mostly been extracurricular.  There is little to note for the project, other than that all of the international orders are either en route or will be shortly (the EU third party shipping system has taken a bit more time to sort than I had liked, I'm sorry, but it should be on the move tomorrow or Monday).  I'll be sending out some of the bigger U.S. orders in the morning, and plowing through the rest as time permits.  I've packaged and sent goods for about a third of you, and things are speeding up as the orders get smaller.

I'm not certain yet exactly when we'll be finished, but it shouldn't be more than another two weeks, barring unforeseen complications.

Thank you again for your support!

EU Goodies Packed
over 9 years ago – Sat, Nov 05, 2016 at 12:34:38 AM

Hello everyone!

I just finished packing up all of the goodies to send to those of you in the EU, Australia and New Zealand.  Those will be going to our third party shipping company next week (I need to dot a few "i"s and cross a few "t"s still), and they will get them going as soon as they can.  I'll get you more information as it comes up.

I'm moving on to the other non-U.S. packages, which I should have packaged tomorrow, though they will likely ship out Monday or Tuesday.  Then come the U.S. packages, biggest first.

Progress!

Oh, and I have a few more photos.  These are almost straight out of my smartphone (just resized), which gallingly takes better HDR photos than my fancy Canon camera.  They were taken while I was waiting for my kindergarden student, using the fancy high tech backdrop of my minivan's dashboard, door frame, and the back of a well-loved Tintin book.  So... nowhere as cool as the photos that the good Professor Candy takes, but one makes do with what one has, right?  I thought about cropping them for better composition (yes, I reflexively think about these things), but decided I like that the wider angle gives their size and detail more context.

Thank you again, everyone!

The Meeples Have Landed
over 9 years ago – Thu, Oct 27, 2016 at 07:24:32 PM

Hello everyone,

The meeples have arrived at my office (such as it is), and as noted earlier, I'm doing my best to prep the international shipping so we can get that going.  I've been wrangling databases for a while, and there's a bit more to do, but I hope to start getting the actual products in envelopes this week.  Then they go to our EU shipping middleman, and from there to the EU, Australia and New Zealand.  I will handle all other international orders in-house.

So... I'm very sorry, my friends in the US, but you'll have to wait just a little longer.  International backers have enough to deal with considering screwy tax laws and customs er... customs.  We're going to try to get these in the pipeline and out of the 'States first.  Then I'll handle shipping in the US on a "bigger comes first" basis.

I'm going to get the these going as soon as I can, and we're still aiming for November/December if at all possible.  I don't think that's impossible, but if something comes up, I'll let you all know.  It's just a lot of work, and now I'm neck-deep into it.  Please forgive me if I'm not immediately responsive, times are very, very busy here.

Still, progress!  They look good, and the prototypes for the Fairy, Rocketeer, Mad Scientist and Tinkerer are pretty sweet, too.  Also, the factory did a bit of cleanup on the Gearpunk Beta D20 mold, so they look sharper and cleaner than ever.

It's going to be great, getting all of these out to you!

Thank you again!  These wouldn't have happened without you, and we appreciate your help!

Tesh

P.S. Here are a few photos I had time to take today.  I'll get more when I can.  And yes, the Mad Scientist is missing the bottom edge of his coat on his right; I'll be asking for that to be fixed if we get to do a production run.
